Women’s Premier League 2026: Mumbai Indians vs RCB clash today, top stars to perform at opening ceremony

Mumbai (The Uttam Hindu): The Women’s Premier League 2026 begins today with a high-profile opening match between defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). The season opener will be preceded by a grand opening ceremony, scheduled to start at 6:45 pm.

Popular artists Yo Yo Honey Singh, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Harnaaz Sandhu will perform at the opening ceremony. Notably, this will be Yo Yo Honey Singh’s first-ever performance at a sports event in India.

The match between Harmanpreet Kaur-led Mumbai Indians and Smriti Mandhana-led RCB will be played at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai. The toss will take place at 7:00 pm, followed by the match at 7:30 pm. Both teams appear stronger after the auction and will be keen to begin the season with a win, making the opening clash highly anticipated.

The match will be broadcast live on the Star Sports Network. Live streaming will also be available on the JioHotstar app and website. This is the fourth season of the Women’s Premier League. So far, MI and RCB have faced each other seven times, with Mumbai winning four matches and Bengaluru winning three. Over the last three seasons, MI have won the title twice, while RCB have lifted the trophy once. Delhi Capitals have reached the final in all three seasons but finished runners-up each time.
