Attack on Ashutosh Maharaj: FIR filer assaulted on train to Prayagraj

New Delhi/Prayagraj (The Uttam Hindu): Ashutosh Brahmachari, who had filed a petition in court seeking an FIR against Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwarananda, was allegedly attacked while traveling to Prayagraj on the Rewa Express train early Sunday morning.


According to Ashutosh Brahmachari, he was traveling in the H-1 coach of the train when an unknown assailant attacked him with a sharp-edged weapon between Fatehpur and Sirathu railway stations. He alleged that the attacker tried to cut off his nose, leaving him severely injured and bleeding.


After the attack, Ashutosh Brahmachari managed to save his life by locking himself in the train toilet. He later reached Prayagraj in an injured state. He is currently reported to be out of danger.


Ashutosh Brahmachari has suspected a conspiracy behind the attack, pointing to Swami Avimukteshwarananda and other unidentified individuals. He stated that he has applied to the Prayagraj GRP to file an FIR and will be going to the hospital for a medical examination
