'Farsa wale Baba' death sparks riot in Mathura, police fire rubber bullets to clear highway blockade
Police fired rubber bullets to disperse the mob, which pelted stones and damaged vehicles, after a truck hit Baba's stopped container in fog, with no evidence of cow smuggling found
Mathura (The Uttam Hindu): A very sensational and tense news has come out from Mathura district of Uttar Pradesh. Here, the alleged cow protector Chandrashekhar, famous in the area as 'Farsa Wale Baba', has died tragically in a road accident. As soon as the news of Baba's death spread, there was a huge outrage in the entire area and angry people completely blocked the Delhi-Agra National Highway. The situation became so uncontrollable that the angry mob started pelting stones at the police administration, after which the police had to fire rubber bullets to control the situation and disperse the crowd. A heavy police force has been deployed in the area.
Was it fog or suspicion of cow smuggling? This is how Baba lost his life
According to reports, the incident occurred between 3 and 4 a.m. last night in the Navipur area of the Kosikalan police station area of Mathura. A rumor spread in the area that Farsa Baba was chasing cow smugglers and had been crushed by them. However, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shlok Kumar revealed the full truth. He explained that a dense fog enveloped the night. Chandrashekhar, also known as Farsa Baba, had stopped a container on suspicion. A speeding truck with a Rajasthan registration number, coming from behind, struck Baba in the fog, killing him on the spot.
No cow was found in the container, police dismissed the possibility of cow smuggling
The SSP clarified that no cow smuggling was involved in this incident. A search of the container Baba had stopped on suspicion revealed it was loaded with only grocery items. The truck that struck from behind was carrying cables. The driver and conductor of the truck are both residents of Alwar, Rajasthan. The truck was also damaged in the accident, and its injured driver is currently receiving treatment at a hospital under police supervision.
News of death sparks outrage, clash on Delhi-Agra highway
Even before the truth of the incident was revealed, news spread like wildfire in the area that cow smugglers had murdered Baba. This rumor added fuel to the fire. Within no time, a large number of people took to the streets and created a massive traffic jam on the Delhi-Agra highway. This jam resulted in kilometer-long queues of vehicles, including many foreign nationals, stranded for hours. To avoid the jam, many drivers started driving in the wrong direction, causing widespread chaos on the highway.
Unruly mob pelted stones and damaged ADM's car
Seeing the situation worsen, the Director General of Police (DGP) and a large police force arrived at the scene and made every effort to pacify the crowd. However, the protesters were unwilling to listen. Shortly after, the angry mob began pelting stones at the police and severely damaged the vehicle of the ADM (Administrator) present there. Police responded with force and fired rubber bullets to disperse the crowd. After considerable effort, the highway was reopened, and the police are now taking legal action against the rioters.
