Food row turns fatal: Mumbai taxi driver killed by roommates over dinner dispute
Mumbai (The Uttam Hindu): A shocking incident has come to light from the Sakinaka police station area of Mumbai. A taxi driver was brutally murdered by his roommates because he failed to bring them food on Monday night as usual.
The police have registered a murder case in this matter and arrested one of the four accused, while the search for the remaining three is going on vigorously.
According to police, five taxi drivers from Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh, rented a room in Sakinaka. Javed Khan, 42, was one of them. It is said that Javed was responsible for bringing dinner to everyone every day.
On Monday night, when Javed Khan arrived at his room, he hadn't brought any food. This sparked a dispute between him and the other drivers staying with him.
This minor altercation quickly escalated into a bloody conflict. Shabaz Khan, his father, and his two uncles, who were living with Javed, attacked him with bamboo sticks lying in the room. They beat Javed so brutally that he died on the spot from severe head injuries.
After committing the crime, all four accused fled from the spot in their respective taxis.
Upon receiving information about the incident, Sakinaka police arrived at the scene, took possession of the body, and began an investigation. Acting swiftly, the police arrested one of the accused, while three others, including Shabaz, remain at large.
Police said that the deceased and all the accused are residents of Pratapgarh and were living together by driving taxi in Mumbai for a long time.
