Mumbai (The Uttam Hindu): A shocking incident involving the online service provider "Urban Company" has come to light in Mumbai's Wadala area, raising questions about customer safety. A female therapist, who was hired through an app for a massage, became angry after her booking was cancelled and brutally assaulted the customer inside her home. A video of the incident is going viral on social media, clearly showing the therapist's aggressive nature.

Service was booked for frozen shoulder

According to reports, the 46-year-old woman, a resident of Wadala, lives with her son. She had been suffering from a frozen shoulder, and to seek relief, she booked a massage service through the Urban Company app. The therapist arrived at her home on time, but the victim found the therapist's behavior strange. Furthermore, she became uncomfortable with the large massage bed the therapist had brought. She subsequently decided not to use the service, canceling the booking and initiating a refund.

There was a scuffle after entering the house, and the son was also pushed and shoved

Upon hearing that the booking had been cancelled, the therapist became enraged. The victim alleges that the accused first abused her and then violently attacked her. The therapist pulled her hair, punched her in the face, scratched her body, and pushed her to the ground. When the victim's son came to intervene, the accused also manhandled him. During the commotion, the victim called the police helpline 100, but the accused fled the scene before police arrived.

Police filed a report, questions raised on security

Based on the victim's complaint, the Wadala police have filed a non-cognizable (NC) report against the accused therapist and are investigating the matter. The investigation also revealed some technical flaws related to the therapist's identity on the app. Meanwhile, videos of the assault circulating on social media have raised questions about Urban Company's verification process and customer safety. While the company has not yet officially stated its position, police are searching for the accused.
