Air Force to Hold Major War Exercise Near Indo-Pak Border Tomorrow, NOTAM Issued

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Tensions between India and Pakistan have escalated significantly after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. In view of the fears of war, the Indian Air Force is going to conduct a large-scale air exercise on the southern part of the Indo-Pak border to demonstrate its strength on the border and test operational preparedness. This exercise will take place on Wednesday and Thursday (7 and 8 May).


According to the information, the Indian Air Force has issued a 'Notice to Airmen' (NOTAM) for this major exercise. This exercise is part of the regular exercise of the Indian Air Force near the international border in Rajasthan. According to NOTAM, this aerial exercise will start at 9:30 pm on May 7 and will continue till 3:00 am on May 8. During this time, flying of any other aircraft and drones will be prohibited in the affected airspace.


An Indian Air Force official said that all the frontline fighter aircraft of the Air Force, including Rafale, Mirage 2000 and Sukhoi-30, will take part in this exercise to be held in the desert region and surrounding areas adjacent to the India-Pakistan border in Rajasthan from May 7. The timing and location of this exercise is considered strategically important in view of the increased tension in the region after recent cross-border incidents. This exercise reflects the Indian Air Force's readiness to deal with any situation.
