“Three Bombs Will Explode After Friday Prayers”: Delhi High Court Receives Terrifying Email Threat
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): The wave of bomb threats across Delhi continues to raise alarm. On Friday, September 12, the Delhi High Court received a chilling email threatening to blow up the court premises, including judges’ chambers. The anonymous message claimed that three bombs had been planted and would detonate immediately after Friday prayers, triggering a full-blown security emergency.
The email read:
“There will be an explosion in the judges’ chambers immediately after the Islamic Friday prayers today. Evacuate the premises by 2 PM.”
Following the threat, security agencies, including the Delhi Police and Bomb Disposal Squad, swung into action. The entire court complex was swiftly evacuated, including judges, lawyers, staff, and visitors. A massive search operation is currently underway and remains active.
In recent months, Delhi has been plagued by a series of similar hoax threats targeting schools, colleges, hospitals, and even the Chief Minister’s Secretariat. While all previous threats were ultimately deemed fake, authorities are treating this latest incident with full seriousness, adhering to standard operating procedures.
Sources within the Delhi Police say that their Cyber Cell has launched an investigation to trace the origin of the email. Preliminary findings suggest that, as with previous threats, the email may have been sent using a VPN (Virtual Private Network) to hide the sender’s identity. Officials urge the public to remain calm but vigilant as security forces continue their thorough sweep of the area.
