Betrayal Behind the Lines —DRDO Guest House Manager Nabbed for Spying for Pakistan’s ISI
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu) — In a major espionage bust, Rajasthan CID Intelligence has arrested Mahendra Prasad, a contract manager at the DRDO guest house near the Chandhan Field Firing Range in Jaisalmer, for allegedly spying for Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI. He is accused of passing sensitive and strategic information about India’s defence activities across the border.
CID officials revealed that Prasad, a resident of Palyun in Uttarakhand’s Almora district, came in contact with ISI operatives through social media. He allegedly leaked details of missile and weapons testing, as well as movements of DRDO scientists and Army officers visiting the firing range.
During interrogation, investigators recovered multiple classified files and sensitive data from his mobile phone. A case has been registered against him under the Official Secrets Act, 1923, and he has been taken into custody.
Mahendra Prasad will be produced in court on August 13, where authorities will seek his remand for further questioning. With Independence Day approaching, security and intelligence agencies have heightened surveillance to track possible anti-national activities by foreign agents in the region
