Punjab Bus Strike Tomorrow: PRTC, Punbus Services to Halt
Budhlada (The Uttam Hindu)- The meeting scheduled between the leaders of Punjab Roadways Punbus/PRTC Contract Workers Union Punjab and the Secretary State Transport to resolve the long-standing demands of roadways employees remained inconclusive. Due to this, the organization has called for a bus blockade across the state from the morning of August 14.
Giving information after the meeting held in Chandigarh, the state president of the organization, Resham Singh Gill said that the meeting was delayed as usual and the management has continuously failed to resolve the demands, in protest against which the organization will block the buses for the first time tomorrow on August 14 as per the pre-decided action. Sharing this important information, state joint secretary Jodh Singh said that if the casual workers of Punjab Roadways/Punbus and PRTC remain on strike, then only permanent employees will be seen driving government buses.
