"Sindh may return to India as borders can change", Rajnath Singh's bold claim sparks hype
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu) : The Sindh region is not part of India today. But it is possible that the borders may change and the region may become part of India again, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said during an event. Speaking at the event, he recalled Sindh's historical and cultural significance.
It should be noted that the Sindh region was annexed to Pakistan after the 1947 Partition. Most Sindhi Hindus living there migrated to India. Rajnath Singh noted that L.K. Advani wrote in his book that Sindhis of his generation still have not been able to accept Sindh's separation from India. He explained that the Indus River has always been sacred to Indian Hindus, and many Muslims in Sindh also considered its sanctity to be as sacred as the Zamzam River.
"Sindh will always be a part of India by civilization," Rajnath Singh said, adding, "Today Sindh may not be part of India geographically, but it will always be a part of India by civilization and culture." He further said that borders can change and who knows, Sindh may return to India tomorrow."
Speaking to the Indian community in Morocco, the Defense Minister stated that India will regain Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) without any aggressive action. He said that people in PoK have begun to raise their voices and demand "independence." During Operation Sindoor, some experts had suggested that India should take the initiative to reclaim part of PoK. In this context, Rajnath Singh stated that the situation is changing in this direction.
