Trump announces 10 day pause in Iran strikes till April 6 citing ongoing talks and request from Tehran.
Tehran/Washington (The Uttam Hindu): A major development has emerged amid the ongoing conflict between the United States, Israel and Iran. US President Donald Trump has announced that American forces will not target Iran’s energy facilities for the next ten days. He said the decision has been taken following a request from the Iranian government, and the pause will continue till April 6.
Trump shared the announcement on his social media platform stating that action against Iran’s energy plants has been postponed as talks between the two sides are progressing. He indicated that Iran sought more time and described the ongoing discussions as positive.
In another statement, Trump claimed that Iran has allowed the passage of 10 oil tankers through the Strait of Hormuz calling it a significant gesture. Eight tankers have already departed, while two more are expected soon. He also said that the tankers are operating under Pakistani flags.
The conflict between the United States, Israel and Iran has now entered its 28th day. While talks of dialogue continue, military actions have not completely stopped and the situation in the region remains tense.
