Tehran (The Uttam Hindu): Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi warned that any attack on the country’s oil and energy infrastructure will trigger strong retaliation. Reacting to the recent US strike on Kharg Island and threats to target Iran’s oil facilities, he said Iran’s armed forces will attack energy plants in the region owned or partly owned by American companies if such actions continue.

Iran’s top military command also issued a similar warning, stating that any strike on the country’s oil, economic, or energy infrastructure would lead to immediate attacks on regional targets linked to US interests. Officials said Iran would respond firmly but try to avoid targeting densely populated areas.

Despite the attack, oil exports from Kharg Island are continuing. Authorities said some military facilities and the airport were damaged, but there were no casualties and commercial operations remain unaffected, while shipping in the Strait of Hormuz continues with some security concerns.
