Iran's Eid appeal: 'We are brothers' - President Pezeshkian's plea to Muslim nations
Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian appeals for Islamic unity and brotherhood in an Eid message, citing regional peace and cooperation, amid tensions with Israel
Tehran (The Uttam Hindu): Amid ongoing tensions in West Asia, Iran has taken a diplomatic initiative on the occasion of Eid, offering a message of solidarity to Muslim countries. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian issued an emotional letter to all Islamic countries and neighboring nations, appealing for brotherhood and cooperation.
President Pezeshkian wrote in his message, "To the Islamic countries and our dear neighbors... (This letter is being addressed to the Islamic countries and Iran's neighbors). You are our brothers, and we are not in any conflict with you. The only party benefiting from our differences is the Zionist entity (the Zionist (Jewish) State). On the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, we pray to Allah to grant us strength and unity, so that we may follow the teachings of the Prophet (peace be upon him) and attain His pleasure."
In the letter, he cited Islamic teachings, stating that peace in the region can only be established through mutual cooperation and brotherhood. He appealed to all countries to resolve differences through dialogue and move towards a stronger Islamic unity.
It is worth noting that tensions have recently persisted between Iran and Israel, including a heightened rhetoric regarding the US role. In such a climate, Iran's message is being seen as an attempt to garner support and cooperation at the regional level.
Experts believe that this message given on the occasion of Eid is not only an attempt to connect religious sentiments, but is also an important signal at the diplomatic level that Iran wants to strengthen relations with regional countries.
