New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Israel has claimed a major success in its ongoing operations, stating that two top militant leaders were eliminated within 24 hours. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu shared a video on social media platform X, announcing the development.

In his statement, Netanyahu said that one of those killed was Ali Larijani, described as a top leader linked to the Revolutionary Guards. He added that the operation was carried out with coordination between Israel’s defence leadership, including the Defence Minister, Chief of Staff, Mossad chief, Air Force commander and other senior officials.

Netanyahu said, “In the last 24 hours, we have eliminated two of the biggest terrorist masterminds. This is aimed at enabling the brave people of Iran to celebrate their festival freely.” He also extended greetings on the occasion of Nowruz in his message.

Earlier, on March 17, Netanyahu had stated in another post that Ali Larijani and Basij commander Gholamreza Soleimani were killed in Israeli operations. He claimed that these leaders were involved in actions against civilians in Iranian cities.

He further said that Israel’s strategy is to weaken the current system in Iran so that its people get an opportunity to determine their future. He acknowledged that this process would not be immediate or easy but stressed that continued efforts could lead to change.

Netanyahu also mentioned coordination with the United States, saying he had spoken with President Donald Trump regarding the situation. He highlighted cooperation between Israeli and US forces, including air and naval coordination, and said both indirect and direct methods would be used to maintain pressure.

He added that not all strategies would be disclosed publicly but indicated that more developments could follow in the coming days.
