Blast near Pakistan embassy triggers panic, another attack hits Kuwait port
Powerful explosion near Pakistan embassy in Tehran creates panic, while another blast at Kuwait port raises regional tensions.
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Amid escalating tensions between Iran and the United States and Israel, a powerful explosion was reported near the Pakistan Embassy in Tehran on Thursday night around 8 pm. The blast caused panic among embassy staff, although all officials including the ambassador remained safe and the building was not damaged.
Reports indicate that the explosion took place in the Pasdaran area, a sensitive zone that houses a major Iranian military base along with the Pakistani Embassy and the ambassador’s residence. The intensity of the blast was such that strong vibrations were felt across the embassy complex, prompting immediate security alerts and tightening of safety measures.
At the same time, a separate drone attack targeted Kuwait’s main commercial hub, Shuwaikh Port early Friday. While no casualties have been reported, the strike caused damage to commercial goods, further escalating concerns in the Gulf region.
Amid the rising conflict, Pakistan continues its diplomatic efforts to reduce tensions, working alongside countries like Turkey and Egypt to push for a ceasefire. Islamabad has also urged all sides to ensure the safety of diplomatic missions, as embassies across the region remain on high alert.
