Karachi (The Uttam Hindu): The ongoing tension between Afghanistan and Pakistan shows no sign of easing. In the latest Pakistani air strike on Afghanistan, four people were killed and 15 others injured. The Afghan government said on Friday that Pakistan carried out fresh attacks in several provinces, including Kabul. According to Taliban government spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid, Kabul, Kandahar, Paktia, Paktika and some other areas were targeted. Kabul police said four people were killed in the Pakistani strike in the capital.

Kabul police spokesperson Khalid Zadran said residential houses were targeted in the Pakistani bombing, resulting in four deaths and 15 injuries.

Taliban accuses pakistan of targeting civilians

The Taliban government said on Thursday that Pakistani artillery and mortar shelling in eastern Afghanistan killed four members of a single family, including two children. According to Kabul officials, a total of seven people have been killed in Afghanistan since Tuesday due to cross-border clashes.

Deputy government spokesperson Hamdullah Fitrat said the deaths occurred early Thursday in Sadko village of Khost province. He accused Pakistan of deliberately targeting civilian homes and tents of nomadic families. In a post on social media platform X, Fitrat said four members of a nomadic family—a woman, a man and two children (a girl and a boy)—were killed, while three other children were injured.

Pakistan denies allegations

Pakistan has denied accusations of targeting civilians. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Tahir Hussain Andrabi in Islamabad said Pakistan conducted a “carefully planned targeted operation” and tried to ensure that no civilians were harmed. He said strict monitoring was maintained during the operation and only designated targets were struck. Earlier on Tuesday, Fitrat had also stated that three civilians were killed in Pakistani shelling in the border province of Paktia. Medical sources confirmed the same number to AFP.
