Mumbai (The Uttam Hindu): The renovation work going on at Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan's Mumbai bungalow 'Mannat' has become embroiled in controversy. Recently, after a complaint by a social activist, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and the Forest Department inspected the bungalow. The complainant had alleged that the renovation work was being done in violation of rules.

According to the information received, a team of BMC and forest department officials visited 'Mannat' on June 20. The complaint states that Shahrukh Khan's bungalow falls under the category of grade three heritage building. Apart from this, it also comes under the Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) due to its location on the seashore. Complainant Santosh Daundkar alleged in his complaint to BMC that the renovation work in the bungalow was being done against the rules, after which the officials started the investigation.

It is being said that the investigation report has been handed over to the complainant Santosh Daundkar. There are plans to build two more floors in 'Mannat', and due to its location on the seashore, it is necessary to take permission from the Maharashtra Coastal Zone Management Authority. Reacting to this matter, Shahrukh Khan has said that he has obtained all the necessary permissions and the renovation work is being done as per the rules.

At the same time, Shahrukh Khan's manager Pooja Dadlani has also denied any illegal activity. Talking to a media house, she said that there is no complaint and all the work is being done according to the guidelines. During the inspection of 'Mannat', employees of BMC's H-West Ward Building and Factory Department as well as Building Proposal Department were also present along with the Forest Department officials. A BMC official clarified that his team was only assisting the Forest Department and they have no other role in this matter.
