iPhone 17 craze peaks as people line up overnight outside Apple stores
New Delhi / Mumbai (The Uttam Hindu): The craze for Apple’s iPhone 17 series reached a fever pitch in India as sales began today. Young buyers thronged Apple stores in Delhi and Mumbai with long queues forming since midnight.
In Delhi, hundreds of customers lined up outside the Saket Mall store from late last night eager to be among the first to buy the new iPhone. Excitement among the youth created an unusual rush with some people waiting for hours.
A similar scene was witnessed in Mumbai. At the Apple BKC store, a massive crowd gathered leading to chaos and scuffles. Security personnel had to step in to control the situation. Outside the Jio Center, where demand was particularly high clashes broke out between customers waiting in line.
One shopper, Manoj from Ahmedabad said he had been waiting since 5 a.m. to secure his iPhone, adding that he travels every year for Apple’s flagship launch. The launch of the iPhone 17 has once again highlighted Apple’s unmatched brand appeal in India, where demand continues to soar despite high prices.
