New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Rekha Gupta on Saturday travelled on a bus operated by the Delhi Transport Corporation to personally review the functioning of the Saheli Pink NCMC Card facility for women commuters.

During the journey, the Chief Minister used the card herself to understand how the system works on the ground. After boarding the bus, the card was simply tapped on the machine, and the journey was recorded instantly, demonstrating a quick, smooth and transparent process for passengers.

Gupta said the facility has been introduced to make public transport more convenient and accessible for the women of Delhi. She highlighted that the Saheli Pink NCMC Card is being distributed free of cost at several centres across the city. Women can obtain the card by registering with their Aadhaar number and mobile number and then use it to avail free travel on DTC buses.

The Chief Minister also encouraged women across Delhi to apply for the card and make full use of the service aimed at improving their mobility and safety in public transport.
