New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): In a major breakthrough, Delhi Police has arrested the alleged mastermind behind a series of fake threat messages that had caused panic across the country.
The accused, identified as Srinivas Louis, was apprehended from Mysuru, Karnataka. According to police, the 47-year-old had sent over 1,000 fake threat messages targeting prominent institutions. He was arrested from his rented residence in a joint operation by Delhi Police and local authorities.
Over the past few weeks, several key institutions, including the Delhi High Court and Delhi Legislative Assembly, along with multiple educational institutions, had received alarming messages threatening bomb blasts. Each time, security was tightened, investigations were launched, and fear spread among the public.
However, subsequent probes revealed that all the threats were fake. Despite this, the repeated alerts consumed significant time and resources of security agencies, prompting a serious investigation into the source.
Police officials said the accused was tracked through technical surveillance and digital monitoring. He had been under observation for some time before being finally arrested.
Authorities are now interrogating the accused to determine the motive behind sending such a large number of fake threats. Investigators are examining whether the act was driven by personal reasons or involved any larger intent.
