Ayodhya (The Uttam Hindu): Ahead of the ceremony to hoist the ‘Dharma Dhwaj’ atop the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, Champat Rai, the General Secretary of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, said the sacred flag represents sacrifice and devotion.

He explained that the flag-raising ceremony will take place on the temple’s main shikhara. The event will begin at 11:00 am, and the flag will be hoisted around 11:50 am. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, the Governor of Uttar Pradesh, the Chief Minister, and Swami Govind Dev Giri will attend the ceremony.

Describing the ‘Dharma Dhwaj’, Champat Rai said it bears the symbol of the Kovidar tree. The saffron flag also carries the Sun and the sacred symbol ‘Om’. The flag is a 10-feet-high and 20-feet-long right-angled triangular banner, designed in the colors of rising flames and the morning sun. Rai emphasized that it stands for sacrifice and complete dedication.

The treasurer of the Ram Temple Trust, Govind Dev Giri, said, “We are extremely excited that the day of the temple’s completion has finally arrived—a moment awaited for centuries. All our efforts over the years have led us to this milestone.”

Jagadguru Ramanujacharya Shri Shridharacharya Ji Maharaj said, “Today is a proud moment for India and for Sanatan Dharma. After the entire flag-hoisting ceremony is completed, the temple construction will be officially over, and devotees will soon be able to offer prayers.”

Mahant Ram Lochan Sharan added, “This is a moment of immense pride for the nation. Nothing can be greater than this. Our Prime Minister has arrived. Many people consider PM Modi and CM Yogi as incarnations of divinity.”

Before the ceremony, a devotee said, “The temple that was once incomplete is now ready, and today Prime Minister Modi will perform the final rituals. We have come to witness this historic moment. Earlier it was difficult for common people to even reach this spot, but now we are fortunate to be part of this grand event.”
