Actor Ranveer Singh receives threats, society members panic after seeing gunmen; security beefed up

Mumbai (The Uttam Hindu) - After film director Rohit Shetty, Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh has also been threatened. According to reports, an unknown person has sent a voice note via WhatsApp demanding a ransom of crores of rupees from the actor. Given the seriousness of the matter, police have launched an investigation, and security has been increased for Ranveer Singh and his family.

Following the threat, additional security has been deployed at the Beau Monde apartments in Mumbai's Prabhadevi area, where Ranveer Singh lives with his wife Deepika Padukone. The presence of armed security forces has been increased in and around the apartment complex, causing unease and anxiety among other residents of the society.

The society has objected to the armed security

The society committee has submitted a written memorandum to the local police station seeking clarification on this security arrangement. The committee states that six armed private security guards and policemen have been deployed in the building's gym and common areas without prior notice or permission from the society. This has angered residents.

A threatening voice note was sent to his assistant

Preliminary investigation has revealed that the threatening voice message was not sent directly to Ranveer Singh, but to his assistant's WhatsApp number. It is believed that the threat was made via audio message because unknown calls were blocked. Police suspect that similar threats may have been sent to eight to ten other people associated with the film industry, although formal complaints have not yet been filed in most cases.

It's worth noting that recently, the Mumbai Police arrested five suspects in a shooting outside director Rohit Shetty's home. The police are also investigating the threat against Ranveer Singh with equal seriousness.
