New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Indian Railways is preparing to phase out the UTS (Unreserved Ticketing System) app and replace it with a new integrated platform called RailOne. The new super app will allow passengers to book all types of railway tickets through a single interface, making travel more convenient.

The Railways plans to discontinue the UTS app from March 1. After that, passengers will no longer be able to book unreserved tickets, platform passes or season tickets through the existing system. Travellers have been advised to switch to the RailOne app, which has already been launched as a unified digital platform designed to simplify railway services for millions of users.

Passengers will not need to create new accounts to use the RailOne app. Existing users can log in using their UTS or IRCTC credentials. The app is available free of cost on both Android and iOS devices.

The new platform is expected to benefit occasional travellers as well as daily commuters who frequently book unreserved tickets. Officials say the app offers a simpler and more user-friendly interface compared to the earlier system.

To encourage passengers to adopt digital ticketing, Indian Railways is offering a three percent discount on unreserved tickets booked through the RailOne app using digital payment methods. The offer is valid for a limited period from January 14 to July 14 and applies only to tickets booked through the RailOne platform.

Passengers can avail the discount by making payments through UPI, debit or credit cards, net banking and other digital wallets.
