Kanpur (The Uttam Hindu): ' Jaako rakhe saiyaan, maar sake na koi' (No one can harm the one who is protected by god) this proverb proved true on Kanpur Central Railway Station late Saturday night, when a 60-year-old woman fell into the gap between a moving train and the platform. Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel present on the spot became angels and showed indomitable courage and understanding and saved the woman's life.

This heartbreaking incident happened on Saturday night at around 12:35. 60-year-old Mahima Gangwar, a resident of Farrukhabad, was trying to board the 12593 Garib Rath Express from Kanpur to Bhopal with her husband Rajveer Singh. While boarding the train in a hurry, her foot slipped and she got stuck in the narrow space between the train and the platform.

As soon as the woman fell, there was a lot of commotion on the platform. RPF ASI CP Singh, who was on duty there, immediately took charge, realizing the seriousness of the situation. On one hand, he encouraged the woman to move towards the platform, and on the other hand, he ordered his fellow constables Anil Kumar and Shravan Kumar to immediately pull the chain of the train. Without wasting a moment, the constables pulled the chain and stopped the train.

As soon as the train stopped, the RPF team took the woman out safely and after first aid, she was sent to Hallet Hospital. According to information, the woman's son is a doctor in this hospital. Due to this rescue operation, the train stopped for about 15 minutes, but a precious life was saved.

Eyewitnesses present on the spot praised the RPF jawans. People said that if the jawans had delayed even by a few seconds, a big mishap could have happened. This incident is an excellent example of the vigilance and service spirit of the RPF.
