Gurmeet Ram Rahim Walks Free Again: 40-Day Parole Granted for 14th Time

New Delhi/Rohtak (The Uttam Hindu): Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim has once again come out of Sunaria jail. This time he has been given 40 days parole. After being released from jail on August 5, he left for his Sirsa Dera under police protection. Ram Rahim had earlier got 21 days furlough on April 9, 2025. So far he has come out of jail 14 times. This year, in the four-month period from January 1 to September 14, he will be out of jail for 91 days.

Gurmeet Ram Rahim once again out of jail on 40-day parole, released for the 14th time: The Dera chief has been lodged in Rohtak's Sunaria jail since 2017. He was convicted by a special CBI court in Panchkula in the rape of nuns and the murder of journalist Ramchandra Chhatrapati. He has been sentenced to two terms of 20 years each.

Under the conditions of parole, Ram Rahim will stay in Sirsa Dera. According to the information, this time during the parole period, he will celebrate his 58th birthday on 15 August and programs will be organized in the Dera throughout the month. Earlier in April, during parole, Dera Foundation Day was also celebrated on 29 April. It is worth noting that Ram Rahim has been getting parole before elections or religious events earlier as well. During the Delhi Assembly elections in February, he also got 30 days parole.

Questions have been raised at the political and social level regarding the repeated release of Ram Rahim on parole. Opposition parties and human rights organizations allege that governments grant relief for political gain keeping in mind the influence of Dera supporters.
