Major success for security forces in Sukma, 12 Maoists killed in encounter
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Security forces achieved a major success in the ongoing anti-Maoist operations in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh. During a search operation, personnel of the District Reserve Guard (DRG) neutralised 12 Maoists in an encounter.
According to information, security forces were conducting a search operation in the Kistaram area of Sukma when Maoists suddenly opened fire on the team. The forces retaliated, leading to a fierce gun battle that continued for several hours. After the encounter ended, 12 Maoists were found dead.
Security personnel also recovered a large cache of weapons and ammunition from the encounter site, including AK-47 and INSAS rifles. Search operations in the area are still ongoing to ensure there are no remaining threats.
