Noida (The Uttam Hindu): A massive fire broke out on Thursday morning at an electronic meter manufacturing factory in Sector-4 of Noida, triggering panic among workers. At the time of the incident, around 200–250 employees were working the night shift. As the fire spread and thick smoke filled the premises, a stampede broke out while workers tried to escape, leaving many injured.

Around 32 workers were rushed to nearby hospitals, with some admitted to the ICU due to serious smoke inhalation while others are undergoing treatment in the general ward. Several employees reportedly suffered breathing difficulties due to the dense smoke, while others were injured after falling during the chaos.

Fire brigade teams quickly reached the spot and launched rescue operations. More than 30 fire tenders and other emergency equipment were deployed to control the blaze. Firefighters broke the factory’s glass windows to rescue trapped workers and shift them to the district hospital. Officials said the fire is being brought under control and an investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the incident.
