New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval discussed the security situation of the country in detail in the Sardar Patel Memorial Lecture. He said that since 2013, there has been no terrorist attack in any part of the country except Jammu and Kashmir. Ajit Doval said that the facts are clear and there can be no dispute on them. India has effectively fought terrorism. He said that a major terrorist incident took place in the country on July 1, 2005 and after that, the last terrorist attack took place in the interior areas of the country in 2013. After this, except Jammu and Kashmir, the entire country has been safe from terrorist attacks.

The NSA stated that although enemy forces remained active, India's security arrangements and vigilance had prevented any major incidents in the country's interior. He also noted that left-wing extremism had declined significantly since 2014. Doval said, "LWE has now been reduced to less than 11 percent of the area compared to 2014. Most of the districts that were previously declared as insurgency-affected have now been declared safe."

He said India is now capable of effectively responding to national security threats. “It is not enough to simply say we have put in place security measures, but it is also important that every Indian feels safe from both internal and external threats,” Doval said.

The NSA also stressed the need to uplift marginalized sections of society and protect women. He said, “It is essential to care for and empower the deprived, vulnerable, and marginalized. Providing women with a sense of security, equality, and empowerment is an important part of good governance in modern governance.”
