New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval delivered a highly emotional and thought-provoking message while addressing the nation's youth on Friday. From the platform of the "Developed India Young Leaders Dialogue," he confronted the youth with the harsh truths of history and inspired them to build the nation. Doval stated unequivocally that India's independence was not a free gift, but a huge price was paid for it. He called upon the youth to learn from history and build a great India that stands on its values and self-respect.

'Our temples were looted and we watched helplessly'

In his address, Ajit Doval stated that independent India was not always as safe and free as it appears today. Our ancestors endured terrible times. He said, "Our generations suffered profound humiliation and witnessed destruction. Our villages were burned, attempts were made to destroy our civilization, and our temples were looted, while we watched helplessly." Doval awakened the spirit of patriotism among the youth, saying that every young person in India should possess that fire today. Defining the word "revenge," he said that revenge does not necessarily mean violence, but rather a powerful force. We must "avenge" our history by returning this country to its glorious position, where we can live with our heads held high, with our rights and values respected.

Don't make the mistake of not recognizing security threats again

Referring to India's ancient culture, the NSA said that our civilization was highly developed and peace-loving. We never invaded another country or destroyed any religious sites. However, our greatest weakness was that we failed to recognize the threats to our security and our own well-being in time. When we became careless, history taught us harsh lessons. He warned future generations, saying, "The question is, have we learned those lessons? If future generations forget these lessons of history, it will be the greatest tragedy for the country."

Over 2000 youth gathered at Bharat Mandapam

NSA Doval's address came at the inaugural ceremony of the "Developed India Young Leaders Dialogue" (VBYLD 2026) being held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. Organized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, the three-day event will continue until January 12th. This mega event has brought together over 2,000 young participants from across the country, who are discussing various issues of innovation and nation-building. The primary objective of the event is to empower youth to become active partners in the Prime Minister's vision of "Developed India @ 2047."
