New Delhi/Tel Aviv (The Uttam Hindu): Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Israel on Wednesday for an official visit, with his special aircraft drawing global attention as thousands of people tracked its movement online.

According to data from Flightradar24, about 7,184 users were monitoring the Prime Minister’s aircraft in real time when it entered Jordanian airspace from Saudi Arabia at around 3:45 pm. At that time, it was among the most tracked flights in the world.

The special flight followed an alternative route, avoiding the airspace of Pakistan and Iran for security and strategic reasons. The aircraft departed from Palam Air Force Station in New Delhi, flew over Gujarat and the Arabian Sea to reach Oman, and then entered Israel via Saudi Arabian and Jordanian airspace.

The Prime Minister travelled on Air India One, the Government of India’s special aircraft used by top constitutional authorities. The plane is equipped with advanced security features, including secure communication systems, a command centre and modern defence mechanisms.

The aircraft later landed at Ben Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv. While a direct flight between India and Israel usually takes around six to seven hours, the journey took longer this time due to the alternative route adopted for security considerations.
