Bypoll Boost for AAP: Scores Big in Gujarat, Punjab; Party in Celebration Mode

Ludhiana (The Uttam Hindu): The results of by-elections held on 5 assembly seats in different states of the country were declared on Monday. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has won the Viswadar seat of Gujarat, while AAP candidate Sanjeev Arora has also won the Ludhiana West seat of Punjab. There is an atmosphere of celebration in the Aam Aadmi Party on the performance of the party.

AAP's victory in Gujarat

According to the Election Commission, AAP candidate Gopal Italia has won from Viswadar seat. He got 75,942 votes and defeated BJP's Kirti Patel by 17,554 votes. Aam Aadmi Party workers celebrated Gopal Italia's victory at Lal Bangla Circle in Jamnagar. They also burst crackers during this. AAP leader Prakash told IANS that Gopal Italia has won the by-election, which is a new chapter in Gujarat politics. BJP had dominance here for the last several years, but today our party has registered a historic victory here. The people here want that now there should be talk on issues instead of religion, so the people have given us a chance.

AAP also hoisted its flag in Ludhiana, Punjab.

Aam Aadmi Party candidate Sanjeev Arora won the Ludhiana West seat by 10,637 votes. Sanjeev Arora got a total of 35,179 votes. Congress' Bharat Bhushan Ashu came second, who got about 24,542 votes. BJP's Jeevan Gupta came third.

Congress candidate wins in Kerala

Congress candidate Aryadan Shaukat has won the Nilambur seat in Kerala. He defeated CPI (M) candidate M. Swaraj by 11077 votes. Celebrated with workers after the victory.

TMC leading in Kaliganj seat of West Bengal

TMC candidate Alifa Ahmed is leading in Kaliganj seat of West Bengal. She has left BJP's Ashish Ghosh behind by a huge margin. Mamata Banerjee has also expressed happiness over TMC's lead by sharing a post on Instagram.

According to the Election Commission of India, 75.27 percent votes were cast in the by-election for the Nilambur seat in Kerala on June 19. 73.36 percent voters cast their votes in the Kaliganj seat of West Bengal. 56.89 percent voting took place in Visavadar seat of Gujarat and 57.91 percent voting took place in Kadi seat. 51.33 percent voting was recorded in Ludhiana West seat of Punjab.
