New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Union Minister for Rural Development, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan today introduced the Vikasit Bharat–Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin): VB–G RAM G Bill- 2025 in the Lok Sabha. Under this, a statutory guarantee of 125 days of wage employment will be provided every year. Shivraj Singh said in Parliament that our resolve is the welfare of the poor and we have tried to fulfil that resolve. Not only the welfare of the poor but also the complete development of villages, which Mahatma Gandhi also used to say – the creation of a complete village, a self-reliant village, a developed village. Provision for this has been made in it and not only a provision, we have decided that the Central Government will spend more than Rs 95 thousand crore on this.
Union Minister Shivraj Singh said that many employment schemes came before this. One scheme was called the Jawahar Rozgar Yojana. Later, the Congress party itself changed the name of the Jawahar Rozgar Yojana, so was that an insult to Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru? Shivraj Singh said that often the budget for the welfare of the poor is distributed unevenly, and many panchayats lag behind in development. Therefore, by grading the panchayats, a provision has been made to give more work to those who are underdeveloped and less developed.
Shivraj Singh said- Mahatma Gandhi lives in our hearts and it was the resolution of Mahatma Gandhi ji, Pandit Deendayal ji that the welfare of those who are at the bottom, who are at the bottom, should be done first and we also believe in Mahatma Gandhi ji and based on his thoughts, based on the thoughts of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay ji, this government is running many schemes for the welfare of the poor under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji.
Union Minister Shri Chouhan said that as far as MNREGA is concerned, Congress and UPA had only introduced MNREGA, UPA government had spent Rs 2 lakh 13 thousand 220 crore on MNREGA, whereas we have spent Rs 8 lakh 53 thousand 810 crore on poor welfare and have tried to strengthen this scheme further, what is the problem even today, instead of 100 days guarantee, we are giving 125 days guarantee, this guarantee is not empty, rather a provision of more than Rs 1 lakh 51 thousand 282 crore has been made for it.
Shivraj Singh said that the new bill will bring about complete development of villages. He said that when Sharad Pawar ji was the Union Agriculture Minister, he himself had said that laborers are not available for agricultural work. We have tried to resolve that concern of Pawar ji as well. Shivraj Singh said that Bapu lives in our hearts, we respect him completely, it was Bapu who used to say Ram Rajya. Ram is present in every pore of our body, Ram is present in our every breath. This country cannot be known without Ram. I don't know why, but when the name VB-G-RAM-G came up, he got angry. Mahatma Gandhi himself used to talk about establishing Ram Rajya, his last words were - Hey Ram. With full respect to Bapu ji, establishment of Ram Rajya means I am not affected by physical, divine, material troubles - Ram Rajya.
Union Minister Shivraj Singh said that this bill has been brought to ensure that every poor person gets adequate employment, their dignity is respected, and that the disabled, the elderly, women, and Scheduled Castes and Tribes are given more protection. He said that he will ensure the overall development of villages and work to establish a balance between agriculture and labor. Shivraj Singh said that this entire bill is in line with Gandhiji's sentiments and is for the establishment of Ram Rajya.
