Shocking revelation: 1,000 litres of animal blood found stored in human blood bags, officials stunned
Hyderabad (The Uttam Hindu): A highly disturbing case has emerged from the Kachiguda area of Hyderabad, leaving even senior officials shocked. During a raid conducted by the Drug Control Administration (DCA) at an import-export firm, authorities recovered a huge quantity of animal blood stored illegally on the premises.
Officials found around 1,000 litres of blood, which was collected unlawfully from goats and sheep. The most alarming aspect of the case is that the animal blood was packed in special blood bags normally used in hospitals for storing human blood.
The raid was carried out jointly by Central Drug Control officials, Hyderabad Police, and the state Drug Control team following a specific tip-off. Senior officers said they were stunned by what they saw inside the firm. Along with the blood, several advanced processing and packaging machines were also seized.
The team recovered an autoclave machine, a laminar air flow unit, 110 filled blood bags, and around 60 empty blood bags from the premises. Officials suspect that the blood was intended for illegal clinical trials, experimental use, or for preparing culture media for laboratory testing.
The owner of the firm is currently absconding. Police and concerned departments have registered a case, launched a search operation to trace the accused, and begun a detailed investigation into the seized material.
