Weather to change across states, thunderstorms and heavy rain expected for five days

Weather conditions are set to change with thunderstorms, lightning and heavy rain expected in many states for the next five days.

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Weather conditions are set to change in many parts of the country. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for thunderstorms, strong winds, and rain in several states, including Delhi and Uttar Pradesh, between March 15 and 19. Wind speeds of up to 50–65 kmph and lightning are expected in many areas.

Rain and gusty winds are likely in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh over the next two days. Hailstorms may occur in Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh, while Himachal Pradesh could see thunderstorms until March 19. Eastern states like Bihar, Jharkhand, and West Bengal may also witness thunderstorms during this period.

Southern and northeastern states are also expected to receive light to moderate rain. However, some regions such as Vidarbha, Jharkhand, and Odisha may still experience heatwave conditions, with temperatures in a few places touching around 40°C.
