350th Martyrdom day of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji: Harjot Singh Bains reviews Nagar Kirtan with Pathankot district administration
Pathankot (The Uttam Hindu): Punjab Education Minister S. Harjot Singh Bains today presided over a review meeting at District Administrative Complex Malikpur, Pathankot to review the preparations for the arrival of Nagar Kirtan to commemorate the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji.
S. Harjot Singh Bains, along with Advisor to Tourism & Cultural Affairs Department Mr. Deepak Bali & Secretary Dr. Abhinav Trikha, reached here to review the preparadness for the historic occasion. He said that grand events would be organised to commemorate the 350th martyrdom day of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji by the Punjab Government. A Nagar Kirtan will be commenced from Srinagar and will reach Pathankot on November 20, which will conclude at Sri Anandpur Sahib via district Hoshiarpur. He said that the Nagar Kirtan would reach Madhopur in Pathankot district on November 20 where the Punjab Police will give guard of honour to Nagar Kirtan. He said that the Nagar Kirtan will reach S.D. College Pathankot via Madhopur to Sujanpur-Malikpur, Malikpur to Tank Chowk, Gurdaspur Road, Light Wala Chowk, Dhangu Road and will reach S.D. College Pathankot.
S. Bains appealed to the residents of Pathankot district that they should reach Madhopur to welcome the Nagar Kirtan when it reaches on November 20 and seek the blessings of the Guru. He said that before this, a light and sound show based on the life and martyrdom of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji will also be shown at Lamini Stadium. He directed the education department officials to ensure that school children visit the light and sound show so that students can get guidance of righteousness from the life of Guru Sahib.
Speaking on the occasion, mr. Deepak Bali said that the martyrdom of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji is unparalleled. He said that the Nagar Kirtan dedicated to the martyrdom of the Guru Sahib is reaching Punjab and a big guard of honor will be given on reaching Madhopur.
On this occasion, Dr. Abhinav Trikha, Secretary, Tourism and Cultural Affairs Department, Punjab, Aditya Uppal, Deputy Commissioner, Pathankot, Daljinder Singh Dhillon, SSP. Pathankot, Swaran Salaria Pradesh Vice President Aam Aadmi Party, Amandeep Sandhu District President Aam Aadmi Party Pathankot, Arsdeep Singh ADC (J)-cum-RTO Pathankot and other Aam Aadmi Party office bearers and district officers of the concerned departments were also present.
