AAP leader shot dead in Jalandhar, rapid firing outside gurdwara; car windows shattered

Jalandhar (The Uttam Hindu): A shocking incident took place in Jalandhar on Tuesday morning when criminals shot dead Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and former councillor candidate Lucky Oberoi. The firing occurred outside the Model Town gurdwara, creating panic in the area.

According to information, Lucky Oberoi had arrived at the gurdwara around 8:15 am, as part of his daily routine to offer prayers. As soon as he came out of the gurdwara premises, the attackers opened indiscriminate fire on him.

After being hit by bullets, Lucky Oberoi was critically injured and rushed to a private hospital for treatment. Due to his serious condition, doctors referred him to another hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries on the way.

At the time of the attack, Lucky Oberoi was seated in his Thar vehicle. The attackers reportedly fired around seven to eight rounds, several of which hit him in the chest and head. The firing also shattered the windows of his car.

On receiving information about the incident, the investigation team along with the SP reached the spot and began probing the case. The murder has caused shock and tension across the city, while police are trying to identify and trace the attackers.
