BSF Revises Attari-Wagah Border Retreat Timing, New Schedule Effective Aug 15
Amritsar(The Uttam Hindu): The Border Security Force (BSF) has announced a change in the timing of the daily Attari-Wagah Border Retreat Ceremony along the India-Pakistan border. Starting August 15, the ceremony will now be held from 6:00 PM to 6:30 PM, instead of the earlier slot of 6:30 PM to 7:00 PM.
According to BSF officials, the decision was made in view of changing weather conditions and shorter daylight hours, ensuring better convenience for visiting tourists.
Known for its patriotic fervor and vibrant military display, the retreat ceremony has remained a major attraction for both Indian and international visitors since 1959. Every evening, thousands of spectators gather to witness the synchronized lowering of national flags and the spirited parade conducted by BSF troops and Pakistan Rangers.
Located about 30 km from Amritsar and 22 km from Lahore, the Attari-Wagah joint check post sees over 25,000 visitors daily during the peak season, making it one of the most unique and high-energy border ceremonies in the world.
