Chandigarh (The Uttam Hindu): The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has strongly reacted to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) raid at the house of senior party leader and former Delhi minister Saurabh Bharadwaj. The party said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Modi-led central government are deliberately misusing central investigative agencies to continuously target opposition leaders.

Strongly condemning the ED raid, AAP Punjab President Aman Arora said that ever since the High Court verdict yesterday, questions have been raised across the country about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s degree. People are asking why he is not showing his master’s degree. Therefore, as part of a strategy to divert public attention from Modi’s fake degree, the central government got the ED to raid AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj’s house.

Arora said that the Modi government is constantly working to stifle democracy through central investigative agencies. By framing false cases, opposition leaders, especially AAP leaders, are being targeted. The case of Saurabh Bharadwaj is the latest example of this.

Aman Arora said that ED raided Saurabh Bharadwaj’s house on the basis of completely false and baseless allegations. The ED suddenly claims that scams took place in hospital construction works during his tenure, while this matter was never raised before, nor was any such complaint ever made against him.

Moreover, during the month and year the ED is referring to, Saurabh Bharadwaj was not even a minister in the Delhi government. He said the sole purpose of such raids is to divert people’s attention from the allegations of vote theft being levelled against the BJP across the country and the issue of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s fake Delhi University degree.

The second reason is that the Aam Aadmi Party and its leaders are at the forefront in raising their voice against the corruption and dictatorial policies of the Modi government. This raid has been carried out to threaten, intimidate and silence AAP leaders. But we will not be afraid. We will continue to raise our voice against the dictatorship of the Modi government.

Arora claimed that just as after keeping AAP leader Satyendar Jain in jail for two years, the CBI filed a closure report in court and admitted that they found no evidence in the case, the same will happen in Saurabh Bharadwaj’s case as well. The ED will not get anything out of this case because it is completely false and baseless. This has only been done to harass AAP leaders and weaken the Aam Aadmi Party.
