Previous Governments Sheltered Gangsters; AAP Is Cleaning the Mess: Harpal Singh Cheema
Chandigarh(The Uttam Hindu): The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Punjab, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, has once again reaffirmed its firm resolve to eliminate gangsterism and ensure strict law and order in the state.
In a decisive action, the Punjab Police neutralised the accused involved in the murder of renowned Kabaddi promoter Rana Balachauria during an encounter today. The operation reflects the government’s clear policy that criminals and gangsters will not be allowed to operate in Punjab under any circumstances.
Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema said that the action sends a loud and clear message to criminal elements that the AAP government has zero tolerance for crime and gangster culture. He stated that for years, gangsters thrived under the protection and patronage of previous governments, but those days are now over.
“Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Punjab has ZERO tolerance for gangsters. We are determined to clean up the mess left behind by earlier regimes that sheltered criminals. Political protection for gangsters has ended. In today’s Punjab, the law alone will prevail,” Cheema said.
He added that the AAP government stands firmly with the police force and will continue to provide them full support to maintain peace and public safety across the state.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has consistently made it clear that no one is above the law and that the government will act decisively against anyone who threatens the safety of Punjab’s people.
