I went into depression…even thought of committing suicide, Yuzvendra Chahal made a big revelation after divorce from Dhanashree : During a conversation in Raj Shamani's podcast, Chahal said that he was in depression for four-five months. "I used to get anxiety attacks, darkness would engulf my eyes. There were only a few people who knew about my condition," Chahal said. He further told that the mental stress had increased so much that he had to distance himself from cricket as well. "I was not able to give my 100 percent on the field. That's why I thought it necessary to take a break," Chahal said. He also told that during this time he could sleep only for two-three hours and spent most of the time talking to his close friends.

After his divorce from Dhanashree, many rumours spread about Chahal on social media and he was even called a 'cheater'. Chahal gave an emotional response to this. He said, "I have not cheated anyone. I am a loyal person and think for my people from my heart. I have never asked for anything from anyone, I have always given." Chahal said that people write anything on social media without knowing the truth. "I have two sisters and I know how to respect women. People make up stories only because you are seen with someone. The real problem is when you react," he said.

People start considering your silence as weakness, but my fight was going on inside," he told.
