BCCI announces Rs 131 crore cash reward for team India after T20 World Cup 2026 win

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): The BCCI has announced a reward of ₹131 crore for the players and support staff for Team India's victory in the T20 World Cup 2026. India won the T20 World Cup for the third time on March 8, defeating New Zealand by 96 runs in the final in Ahmedabad.

The BCCI stated in a media release that the award recognizes Team India's outstanding performance at the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026. With this title win, India became the first team in that format to retain the trophy consecutively and the first to win the T20 World Cup three times. The Board congratulated the players, support staff, and selectors on this historic achievement and wished them continued success in the future.

It should be noted that after winning the T20 World Cup 2024, the BCCI announced a reward of ₹125 crore for Team India. This amount was distributed among the players, coaching staff, and selectors. For the Champions Trophy 2025 title win, the BCCI announced a cash prize of ₹58 crore. At that time, Team India's captain was Rohit Sharma. Team India's consistent success has firmly established it among the most successful teams in the T20 format.
