Rome (The Uttam Hindu): What if you buy a premium gadget worth Rs 80,000 for just Rs 1500, but after a few days the company asks you to return it? A similar strange incident has come to light with Italy's famous retail chain 'MediaWorld'. Due to a technical fault, the company sold the expensive 13-inch iPad Air for a pittance. Now, realizing its mistake, the company is asking customers to return the devices or is pressuring them to pay the full price.

Mediaworld had launched an offer for its loyalty card holders, but due to a technical glitch on the website, the 13-inch iPad Air, priced at around ₹80,000 (in the Indian market), was listed for just ₹15, or approximately ₹1,500. Customers quickly placed orders. By the time the company realized the blunder, 11 days had passed, and a large number of iPads had already reached customers online and offline.

After realizing its mistake, the company is now trying to recover the losses. Mediaworld has sent an email to customers offering two options: either pay the full remaining price of the iPad and keep the device, or return it. Customers who return the iPad will be refunded their 15 Euros and receive an additional 20 Euro (approximately Rs. 2000) voucher as compensation for the inconvenience. The company claims that this was the result of a minor technical error.

However, experts believe that it could be legally very difficult for the retailer to recall the iPad. According to a report in Wired, there was no clear information about the "price error" in the website's terms and conditions at the time of ordering. Since the deal has been completed and the product has been delivered, it will not be easy to pressure the customers. It should be noted that the iPad, which was mistakenly sold at such a low price, is available in India for a starting price of around 80 thousand rupees and has many premium features like the powerful M3 chip, 12MP camera and Apple Intelligence.
