Centre U-Turn: Panjab University senate structure to remain unchanged

New Delhi ( The Uttam Hindu): The Ministry of Education has decided to rescind its earlier order modifying the constitution and composition of the Senate and Syndicate of Panjab University. The decision follows feedback from stakeholders, including students, teachers, and former Vice-Chancellors, as well as discussions with student organisations.

The original order, issued based on the recommendations of a High Level Committee constituted by the University Chancellor, had sparked controversy. After considering the inputs received, the Ministry of Education has decided to revoke the changes, restoring the previous governance structure of the university.
