Viral Video: Woman’s jaw locks after eating Golgappa, vendor panics
Auraiya (The Uttam Hindu): A bizarre incident has emerged from Uttar Pradesh's Auraiya district, where a woman's passion for golgappas (pani puri) proved costly. While trying to eat a large golgappa, the woman's jaw dislocated, leaving her mouth gaping open. Unable to receive treatment at the district hospital, she was referred to Saifai Medical University.
The incident occurred in the Dibiyapur police station area of Auraiya. Inkala Devi (50), a resident of Gauri Kishanpur Kakor, had come to Auraiya District Hospital with her family for her niece and daughter-in-law's delivery. In the morning, at the children's insistence, the entire family went to a golgappa stall near the hospital.
As Inkala Devi opened her mouth wide to take a large bite, her jaw suddenly locked. The golgappa remained half inside and half outside. She tried desperately to close her mouth, but her jaw wouldn't budge.
Savitri Devi, a relative of the woman who was present at the scene, said, "It all happened in an instant. At first, we thought she was joking, but when Didi started screaming in pain and wouldn't close her mouth, we panicked. We immediately rushed her to the district hospital."
Dr. Manoj Kumar began treating the woman at the district hospital. He tried several times to realign the jaw using manual reduction techniques, but without success. "The patient's jaw was completely dislocated," Dr. Manoj said. "I've never seen a case like this in my career."
Due to the situation, the woman has been referred to Saifai Medical University. Meanwhile, the golgappa stall owner is also terrified by this incident, and locals are calling it the most unusual incident they have ever seen.
Following this incident, doctors have issued special advice. Those who frequently experience jaw pain or a cracking sound should be cautious. Avoid forcing or jerking your mouth wide open while eating, or when eating large items like golgappas. Take small, gentle bites. The woman is currently undergoing treatment in Saifai, but this incident has certainly frightened lovers of spicy golgappas.
