Tehran (The Uttam Hindu): The growing tension between Israel and Iran in West Asia has increased global concern. In this connection, the Indian Embassy in Tehran has issued an advisory advising Indian citizens to leave Tehran immediately.

After the advisory, about 140 Indian students living in Tehran are also worried. These students are studying MBBS in Tehran University of Medical Sciences and Islamic Azad University. The students said that the situation is constantly worsening and they are deeply worried about their safety.

Night's explosion and atmosphere of fear

A student said, "Around 3:20 am on Friday, there was a huge explosion. When we looked out of the window, black smoke was seen rising. When we went downstairs, we heard sounds of more explosions. After some time, the sounds of fighter jets started resonating in the sky and drones became visible." The students told that the scary atmosphere prevailed from Friday evening till the next morning. "There was a blackout in the hostel. We were forced to spend the night sitting in one place downstairs out of fear," said a student.

University administration boosted morale

According to the students, the university administration tried to boost their morale. "Immediately after the blasts, the vice-dean came to meet us and consoled us. By evening the dean also came and assured us that everything will be fine. But that night was very terrifying. I don't have the courage to stay here any longer," the student said. The students have appealed to the Indian government for early evacuation. A student said, "We have full faith in the strength of India. We want the government to ensure our safe return as soon as possible."
