Israel Strikes World’s Largest Gas Field; Iran Activates Defense Systems in Seven Provinces
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Iran and Israel once again had a fierce military confrontation late Saturday night, in which both countries fired hundreds of missiles at each other. The situation is deteriorating rapidly in this conflict that has been going on for the last 48 hours.
Israel claims that it has targeted the Iranian Defense Ministry located in Tehran. Apart from this, oil depots, gas refineries and other strategic targets were attacked in many areas including Bushehr and Tehran. According to the Israeli army, more than 150 Iranian targets have been targeted so far.
Iran has suffered heavy losses in this two-day conflict. According to reports, so far 138 Iranian citizens have died, including 9 nuclear scientists and more than 20 senior commanders. Apart from this, more than 350 people have been injured. In view of the situation, air defense systems have been activated in 7 states including Tehran.
Iran also fired more than 150 missiles on Israel in retaliation. So far 11 Israeli civilians have died and more than 300 have been injured in these attacks. The Iranian army claims that it has also shot down three Israeli F-35 fighter jets, although Israel has not confirmed this claim. This ongoing conflict between the two countries is creating a serious crisis situation in West Asia. The international community has appealed for an immediate ceasefire.
