Modi Leaves for Key 3-Nation Visit, Calls for United Global Front Against Terrorism

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday issued an official statement ahead of his three-nation visit to Cyprus, Canada and Croatia. He said this is an opportunity to enhance global understanding to combat terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.

Prime Minister Modi's statement has been released on Narendra Modi.in. It is written, "Today I am leaving on a three-nation visit to the Republic of Cyprus, Canada and Croatia. On June 15-16, I will visit the Republic of Cyprus at the invitation of President Nikos Christodoulides. Cyprus is an important partner of the Mediterranean region and the European Union. This visit provides an opportunity to strengthen historical bonds and expand our relations in the areas of trade, investment, security, technology and promote people-to-people exchanges."

He said, "From Cyprus, I will be travelling to Kananaskis, Canada to attend the G7 Summit at the invitation of Prime Minister Mark Carney. The Summit will provide a platform for exchange of views on important global issues and priorities of the Global South. I also look forward to interacting with the leaders of partner countries."

“I look forward to my visit to the Republic of Croatia on 18 June and meetings with President Zoran Milanovic and Prime Minister Andrej Plakovich. Our two countries have centuries-old close cultural ties. As the first visit of an Indian Prime Minister to Croatia, this will open new avenues for bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest.”

Prime Minister Modi said in the statement that this visit to three countries is also an opportunity to thank the partner countries for their continued support to India in our fight against cross-border terrorism and to inspire global understanding to combat terrorism.

Earlier on X, Prime Minister Modi said, "I will be attending the G-7 Summit in Canada, which will provide a great platform for exchange of views on various global issues and to discuss in detail the priorities of the Global South."
