Pyongyang (The Uttam Hindu): North Korea has reacted sharply to the security talks between the US and South Korea. The country has warned that it will now take even more "aggressive military action". North Korea alleged that Washington and Seoul are trying to endanger its security. This statement comes after the talks between US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and South Korean Defense Minister Shin Won-sik, in which both the countries talked about strengthening the joint strategy against North Korea's nuclear and missile programs.

Pyongyang's state media said the US and South Korea are constantly engaging in "provocative military activities," and now North Korea will "respond more aggressively than ever before." The report said the North Korean military has been put on the highest alert and is ready to respond to any potential "hostile move."

Experts believe North Korea's statement reflects the growing tensions on the Korean Peninsula over the past few months. Recently, the US and South Korea conducted joint military exercises, which North Korea described as a conspiracy against it.

The international community has appealed to both sides to exercise restraint and resume diplomatic dialogue.
