Quetta (The Uttam Hindu): The Balochistan Liberation Army has claimed that its fighters have captured seven Pakistani military personnel during a recent operation. The organization has described these soldiers as "prisoners of war" and has demanded the release of Baloch political prisoners and allegedly missing persons in exchange for their release. The BLA has given a seven-day ultimatum to the Pakistani government and warned that if the demands are not met, action may be taken against the prisoners in the so-called "Baloch National Court."

Pakistani Army surrenders to BLA fighters, soldiers seen kneeling; given 7-day ultimatum: A BLA spokesperson said in a statement that this action is part of the ongoing conflict in Balochistan. The organization alleges that security forces are carrying out repressive actions against Baloch civilians in the region. However, there has been no official response from Pakistani authorities on this claim so far. Independent confirmation of such claims is usually not immediately possible.

The BLA has issued similar ultimatums before. In the 2025 Jaffar Express hijacking case, the organization gave a 48-hour deadline and demanded the release of political prisoners. Following that incident, the Pakistani military launched an operation called "Operation Green Bolan" and claimed to have freed the hostages, while the BLA claimed otherwise.

Experts believe such developments could further escalate already existing tensions in Balochistan. The conflict has been ongoing for decades, involving separatist activities, security operations, and allegations of human rights violations. The current claims and images have yet to be independently verified, so information on the situation from official and credible sources is awaited.
