'Did Nothing to Iran’: DIA Report Reveals; Trump Blasts ‘Conspiracy to Defame

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): US President Donald Trump and the White House on Tuesday categorically rejected a report by the US Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) that said Iran's nuclear program was not completely destroyed despite the recent US air strikes. This report was first revealed by CNN.

According to the report, the attacks on June 22 caused serious damage to Iran's nuclear sites in Fordo, Natanz and Isfahan, but the Iranian nuclear program has only been set back for a few months, not completely destroyed. This assessment of the DIA is contrary to the statements of Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in which they said that Iran's nuclear infrastructure has been completely destroyed.

President Trump reacted strongly to this report, calling it "fake" and a "conspiracy to discredit the military operation" on his social media platform Truth Social. He rejected the report and said that the US attacks have accomplished their purpose. White House Press Secretary Caroline Levitt also called the report "completely false" and called it an attempt to damage Trump's image.

The DIA report claimed that US bunker-buster bombs destroyed the entrances to Fordow's underground bunkers, but the internal structure was still largely intact. According to the report, the centrifuge machines used to enrich uranium were moved to other locations before the attacks.

It is known that centrifuge machines are used to separate uranium-235 from uranium-238 and make it weapon-worthy. The report indicates that Iran had taken precautionary measures before the attack.

The Trump administration is adamant about its claim. Vice President J.D. Vance said in an interview with Fox News that preventing Iran from increasing its uranium purity from 60% to 90% purity is a sign of the mission's success. Presidential Special Envoy Steve Witkoff has called the leak of the report “treason” and demanded an investigation into it. Meanwhile, Press Secretary Levitt said, “When you drop a 14 thousand pound bomb on precise targets, the result is only one – complete destruction.”
